Meet Hong Kong's disinfecting robot

Subway operators have deployed a fleet

of autonomous robots to clean trains

amid the coronavirus outbreak

(SOUNDBITE) (English) OPERATION DIRECTOR OF MTR CORPORATION, DR. TONY LEE, SAYING:

''We just have a hydrogen peroxide solution inside the robot we use the nozzle to spread the hydrogen peroxide in a mist form and if that concentration maintained in the environment for 15 minutes through the test that we have performed, we can guarantee that the environment with all the germs in that, in including the coronavirus will be totally killed."

The robots can reach smaller areas

and help humans avoid contamination

The technology is normally used in hospitals and labs

to help with deep disinfection
