Activists gathered near Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, after police closed off large areas of the park on June 4, the day a vigil for the Tiananmen Square massacre would normally be held there.
Crowds defied the first ban on the vigil last year, to gather on the 31st anniversary of the brutal 1989 crackdown. However, video from the scene this year showed police present and no crowds gathered in the park. Police said they also made two arrests, including of prominent pro-democracy activist Hang Tung Chow.
