PETALING JAYA, Feb 26 (Bernama) -- Honda Malaysia is targeting to sell 200 units of the all-new Accord and 1,000 units of the new Civic per month, managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama said.

He said the Japanese carmaker’s flagship executive saloon, the Accord, has raised the benchmark in the D-segment with its elegance, excellent performance and premium features, while the C-segment Civic is set to excite the market with class-leading advanced D-segment features in safety, style and comfort.

“With new and exciting enhancements, the much-loved new Accord and Civic are ideal for young urban families, professionals and tech-savvy individuals who demand a stylish vehicle with advanced safety features yet is practical for daily performance," he said at the launch of the cars here today.

He said the all-new Accord continues to meet customers’ demands with more sophistication and premium features, promising a refined and exciting driving experience and greater fuel efficiency.

“Notably, the all-new Accord is also the latest Honda model to be certified with energy efficient vehicle (EEV) status,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the new Civic is equipped with next-generation advanced safety technology, Honda SENSING.

"With the launch of this innovative new Civic today equipped with the full suite of Honda SENSING and added advanced safety features, we are proud to further raise the benchmark in the segment.

“I believe that the New Civic is a complete car for C-segment buyers with its D-segment features," he added.

Powered by an enhanced 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged engine that is more powerful than a 2.4-litre engine, the Accord is available in two variants -- the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged priced at RM185,900, and the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged premium priced at RM195,900.

The Civic, on the other hand, comes in three variants with prices starting from RM113,600 for the 1.8-litre S variant, RM129,600 for the 1.5-litre turbocharged variant and RM139,600 for the 1.5-litre turbocharged premium variant.
