Homes and Vehicles Burn During Destructive Wildfire in Boulder County

Around 1,000 buildings were destroyed when the Marshall Fire swept through Boulder County, Colorado, on December 30, according to local reports.

The fire grew to an estimated 6,200 acres before it was dampened down with the help of snowfall.

Several crews consisting of more than 200 personnel worked to contain the fire and carry out search and recovery efforts, according to an update on January 1 from fire officials. Sixty-two percent of the perimeter was contained, they said.
