Homecoming season 2 finale and general spoilers follow.

Homecoming dropped its second season on Amazon Prime yesterday (May 22), delving into the conspiracy behind a memory-wiping drug that veterans had been taking.

Walter Cruz (Stephan James) ended the season after getting his revenge on Geist and obtaining his own medical records, which will hopefully bring him some peace (full ending explanation here if you want it).

Or will it? The writers have "plenty of ideas" for a season 3, but it hasn't been greenlit yet, so they're not going to give the game away at this moment.

But Stephen James knows his character better than most, and has a good idea of where he things Walter could go next.

"Season one begs the question: where do we go from here? What happens to Walter after this? What happens to Heidi (Julia Roberts) after this?" he told Digital Spy and other media outlets.

"I was just extremely grateful that this season, I was going to get this opportunity to cross the Ts, dot the Is, clean up some unfinished business that Walter certainly had in that first season."

"I think he's gotten closure, which to me was always the most important thing, and so now you hope Walter can go on about his life. He's still a young man. He's got a lot of hobbies and interests. Maybe he has aspirations of being of help to future veterans coming home. I would like to think that anyway.

"I don't know what Eli and Micha have written in their heads. As far as me, like a lot of soldiers once they're finally able to get over that monkey on their back, and the coming back and re-acclimatising to society, I think any soldier just wants to move on and live a normal life.

"That's what Walter will be setting his sights on."

Homecoming seasons 1 and 2 are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
