Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away's Dean Thompson may have messed things up for good with his son Jai, after the kidnapping drama unfolds next week.

In scenes that UK viewers will see in the first week of 2021, Dean has taken Jai away after he thinks that Amber and Francesca aren't looking him properly, and no-one knows where they have gone.

Everyone starts worrying about the situation, and Amber rounds up people to look for them. While Jai is safe at one of Dean's secret childhood hangouts, people are still horrified.

Colby eventually finds the pair, and after learning that Dean plans to flee Queensland with his son, he threatens to have the desperate dad arrested for kidnapping. Dean tries to paint it to Jai as an adventure, but the kid is worried about his mum, and Dean relents.

Although Jai is returned safely, Amber and her mum are both still furious and the rift between the parents is possibly worse than ever.

Colby and Dean himself both express concern that the latter will lose the right to see his son after this, but will she actually go through with it?

Filming recently wrapped on the Australian soap for 2020, and the cast and crew shared their thanks to fans, while teasing a big announcement before the year ends.

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, January 4, Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6 at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
