Hollyoaks stars Carley Stenson and Danny Mac announce birth of second child and reveal unusual name
Hollyoaks stars Carley Stenson and Danny Mac have become parents for the second time.
Stenson, 41, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that she had given birth and reveal the tot’s unusual moniker.
Alongside a picture of her and Mac, 36, leaving hospital with a car seat containing their new addition, she penned: “Beauie Mac,” followed by four blue love-heart emojis.
“Been in our LOVE bubble since 18/04/24,” she continued, along with four red love-heart emojis.
Former co-stars including Nikki Sanderson, Gemma Merna and Bronagh Waugh led the well-wishes in the comments section.
“Aww congratulations,” cooed Sanderson, who plays Maxine Minniver in the Channel 4 soap, while Merna, who portrayed Carmel Valentine also said “congratulations”.
With Waugh - who won a legion of fans as Cheryl Brady before going on to star in dramas including The Fall, Unforgotten, Ridley and Strike - telling the new parents: “Awwwww my darlings!!! Congratulations!!!”
Stenson played aspiring actress Steph Cunningham on the Cheshire-set show from 2000 until 2011 and Mac portrayed village eye-candy Mark “Dodger” Savage from 2011 until 2015.
While they met in 2011, they never actually worked together on Hollyoaks because Stenson’s character was killed off in a fire before Mac joined the cast.
Mac’s character saw him voted three times as Soap’s Sexiest Man at the Inside Soap Awards, and twice Sexiest Male at the British Soap Awards.
They started dating in 2011 and were married by August 2017, welcoming daughter Skye Bella in June 2021.
After Hollyoaks, Stenson went on to carve out a career in musical theatre, with credits including Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical, Fantine in Les Miserables and Elle Wood in Legally Blonde: The Musical.
