Hollyoaks has set up the arrival of former EastEnders star Richard Blackwood with Friday's first-look episode.

Blackwood has been cast in the soap as Felix Westwood, the long-lost father of the recently-reunited Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams), Toby Faroe (Bobby Gordon) and Celeste Faroe (Andrea Ali).

This week has seen Mitchell attempting to build bridges with his two siblings by revealing that he'd found out how to locate their dad.

"[Martine] mentioned he grew up in a care home," he revealed.

In Friday's first-look episode (March 13), the triplets followed up a lead that Celeste found out about Felix's current location, though it ultimately turned out to be a dead end.

Celeste explained to Mitchell that their dad moved abroad and couldn't be contacted, though she later secretly revealed to Toby that she actually got Felix's phone number.

"All that stuff about [our dad] being abroad was a lie," she insisted to a sceptical Toby. "If Martine was right, and our dad was the one who gave us away, then he needs to pay.

"Mitchell will only get in the way of the plan."

The night's shocking cliffhanger had Celeste pretending to be Martine (Kéllé Bryan) as she left a voicemail for Felix asking him to come to Hollyoaks for an "urgent" visit.

Felix's impending arrival is set to cause major unrest in the village, since the character also has ties to bad boy Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas).

"He's a dark character," he told Good Morning Britain hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway last month. "You'll find through the story there's things that have happened that conditioned him to be the way that he is.

"He's a bit desensitised from emotion in that sense. When he interacts with people, you can see that."

Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
