Liam Donovan now has a reason to want his sister Grace Black dead ahead of his Devil's Dinner Party in Hollyoaks.
Liam (Jude Monk McGowan) is currently planning revenge on his enemies Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) by luring them into a trap at The Dog later this week.
After orchestrating a brutal attack on Warren Fox, Liam was confronted by Mercedes and Grace in Monday's (March 23) first-look episode on E4 over his cruel plot to manipulate down-on-her-luck Maxine into prostitution.
"Apart from Curtis, you are the only family I have left," Grace pleaded. "This vendetta is going to end badly and I can't lose you. It'd kill me! I am begging you, please for my sake and yours, but mainly for Jesse's memory, will you please put the breaks on?"
"This ends when I say it does," Liam insisted.
When Liam revealed that he blamed Max for over-serving Jesse on the night of his death, Mercy and Grace enlisted his brother's widow Courtney (Amy Conachan) to convince him what he was doing was wrong.
"You can't always carry on with this destructive behaviour," Courtney urged him.
Courtney's plea finally seemed to snap Liam back into reality, so he apologised to Maxine for what he'd put her through — with Damon (Jacob Roberts) overhearing and finally believing Max's plight.
Damon and Maxine looked to have a happy ending at last as they blissfully took Minnie to the park together, seemingly as a new start for their friendship.
While Grace was breathing a sigh of relief that Liam had been reeled back from the edge, her brother was actually moving forward on his Devil's Dinner Party after watching CCTV footage of James and Grace admitting their part in Jesse's death.
"It's all your fault, Grace," Liam seethed.
Jude Monk McGowan has hinted that there will be no turning back for Liam once he sets his trap for his intended victims — now including Grace.
"There is no part of him that feels for Mercedes, or Grace, or even Maxine, because all of them have contributed to a loss for Liam, of either for the people he loves, or of relationships dying, be that with Eva, or with Jesse," he teased.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm.
