Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

The blackmail conspiracy against the McQueens has unveiled Cher Winters's dark secret in Hollyoaks.

An ongoing Hollyoaks 25th anniversary storyline has seen a mysterious dollmaker blackmailing the McQueen family with Seven Deadly Sins from their past.

The first to pay the price was Sylver McQueen (David Tag), when he was arrested by PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr) after the dollmaker sent his recorded confession about killing Breda to the police.

The next to pay the price for her troubled past in Tuesday's (October 20) first-look episode was Sylver's long-lost daughter Cher Winters (Bethannie Hare).

The episode started off on an ominous note with a mysterious figure watching as Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) demanded that PC Kiss hack into his superiors' email accounts and delete the video confession.

When PC Kiss reminded Mercy that she was asking him to commit a crime, she warned: "You either destroy it, or we destroy you."

PC Kiss refused to go along with the plot, even after Mercedes insisted that he would "never be a part of this family" as long as she was breathing.

While Sylver was released later on, the McQueens were soon at each other's throats over what to do with the sinister doll. John Paul argued that they couldn't get rid of it because they'd have no idea when they'd be blackmailed next.

"We're McQueens, and we're strong in numbers, so we stick together. All of us," Mercedes insisted.

At the same time, Sylver was revealing the truth about how he'd killed Breda to Cher, only to be left stunned by his daughter's admission that she'd also killed someone!

Cher confessed that she'd shoved her younger sister Liza into the deep end of a pool because she was jealous over their mum's affections, with Liza drowning since she couldn't swim.

"You killed your mum to save people. I killed my sister because I couldn't dance," she angrily insisted.

Sylver insisted that what happened wasn't Cher's fault because she was just a child, and vowed to keep her secret.

"Sylver escaped jail, but there are six sins yet to be exposed," the doll interrupted. "The next McQueen won't be so lucky."

The doll also offered a bargain: if the McQueens could guess the identity of their tormentor, the blackmail would end.

"Guess wrong, and the consequences will be severe," the doll threatened.
