Hoda Kotb Called Out by Jenna Bush Hager for Wearing Pants with Security Tag on Them: ‘I Don’t Care’
"Hoda, it seems as though you either stole those pants or they forgot to take off the security tag," Bush Hager said
Sometimes accidents happen — and Hoda Kotb knows that.
On Today with Hoda and Jenna on Monday, May 6, Kotb's co-host Jenna Bush Hager presented Kotb, 59, with an interesting dilemma during a segment of the show called "Girl Code."
"Okay, so you’re sitting with your friend. You’re hosting a television show as some do. And you look down and you notice that your friend has something on her pants and you wonder, ‘Shall I tell her quietly? Or should I just scream it to the world?’" Bush Hager asked the mother of two.
"Hoda, it seems as though you either stole those pants or they forgot to take off the security tag."
Kotb admitted that "sometimes the security tag is forgotten" and she and her team lost a fight trying to get it off.
"We tried to pry it off with pliers, etc, and it doesn’t work," she continued, proudly telling the Sisters First author, "I will have you know that I went through the 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. [hours of Today] without anyone noticing."
"Well, they may not be paying attention to you the way I’m paying attention to you. I will say, you’re in the flow so much so that you don’t even care," her friend and co-host replied.

"I don’t care, I don’t care," the Ten Years Later author replied.
"But I do like the pants. They’re cute," Bush Hager added, also pointing out a tag on the back of the paisley-print pants.
"Anyway, you look great!" Bush Hager added.
In December 2023, Kotb told PEOPLE that she sometimes follows rules that might be considered fashion faux pas by other people.
"I have seven things I love and they're going to get a workout. I’m a re-wearer, and I don’t know if it’s a disaster, but it’s certainly my style," Kotb said, also noting that she sometimes wears clothes that are "either stained, torn or worn again from three days before" though not necessarily on air.
