Hins Cheung named big winner at Top 10 Gold Song Awards

24 Jan – Hins Cheung was named the big winner at the RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who recorded an audio of his speech that was aired in a special programme held recently, stated that his song "Centennial Tree" was actually recorded as a gift to fans who loved his song "Under the Cherry Tree" which he released ten years ago.

The said song was listed as one of the winners of the Top Ten Gold Songs award.

Overall, the singer won four accolades from the said awards, including Most Excellent Popular Singer, and Best Chinese Record for "Senses Inherited".

Other singers who won the popular singer awards include Janice Vidal, Joey Yung, Kay Tse, Eason Chan, and AGA.

It was back in November last year that the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) announced that it will not be holding its annual live music awards to ensure the safety of performers and audiences alike due to the dire socio-political atmosphere in Hong Kong.
