- HGTV is launching House Hunters: LOL, a new socially-distanced version of their classic show House Hunters.
- The self-shot series will feature celebrity comedians offering funny commentary and finding humor in past episodes of the original show.
- House Hunters: LOL includes six episodes and will premiere in June.
If you've ever tuned in to an episode of HGTV's House Hunters and yelled back at your TV when potential home buyers complain about a paint color ("Just paint over it, people!"), wondered how, exactly, two struggling musicians can afford an ocean-front property in the Caribbean ("Where did they get $1.4 million?!), or pondered why every husband feels the need to try the master bathtub on for size ("There goes Bob hopping into the clawfoot"), then the fine folks at the HGTV network have a new show tailor-made for your viewing and mocking pleasure.
In the newly greenlit House Hunters: LOL, socially-distanced celebrity comedians will chat with fellow comedians while watching past episodes, essentially narrating the show and finding fun and humor in America's obsession with stainless steel, man caves, open floor plans, and walk-in closets.
"House Hunters is a play-along phenomenon that has long inspired drinking games, snarky social media commentary, and spoofs on late-night television," says Jane Latman, president of HGTV. "While we're #HomeTogether, House Hunters: LOL will amp up the fun by combining our favorite comedians with one of America's favorite shows."
The six half-hour long episodes will premiere in June, and you can bet your granite countertops that we'll be glued to our televisions like crown molding to the ceiling.
