Before meeting Andersen, Victoria was in a relationship with her longtime boyfriend Michael Marks, she previously told PEOPLE during an exclusive interview in 2020.

At the time, she opened up about how that relationship, in addition to her family, were like an anchor for her while she was in the process of cutting ties with her business partner and co-star Donovan Eckhardt following his alleged mishandling of company finances.

“I focus on what can I do, not what I can’t do, because when you do that, you’re going to go down a very dark hole and you can’t dig yourself out,” she told PEOPLE. “I haven’t allowed myself to go there. I’ve peeked, and I’m like, ‘That’s not for you. You didn’t come this far to fall down. You didn’t come this far to give up.’”

She later revealed to PEOPLE in July 2023 that the whole ordeal with Eckhardt almost made her leave Chicago — the city where she grew up and renovated her unconventional office warehouse on Windy City Rehab: Alison’s Dream Home.
