Hetty Koes Endang to remain in Malaysia until January 2022

23 Nov – Legendary Indonesian songstress Hetty Koes Endang recently revealed that she will be staying in Malaysia until January next year for the Astro hit reality singing competition, "Gegar Vaganza", despite having to part from her beloved grandson.

The 64-year-old singer, whose daughter Afifah gave birth to son Arlo three months ago, stated that she was a bit reluctant to part from her grandson and the whole family, but that her responsibility calls for it.

"This is a sacrifice that must be done as best as possible when I agreed to be GV8 jury. If I miss them, I can just make a video call," she said. "I expect to stay until January 2022, when the competition is finally over. God willing, I will be fine."

Hetty also admitted that Malaysia is like a second home to her, since she has a lot of fans in the country as well as colleagues and friends in the industry.

It is noted that the singer made the decision to stay in the country instead of returning to Indonesia every other week due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the other hand, the 8th season of "Gegar Vaganza" finally premiered on 21 November, with performers like Adibah Noor, Nikki Palikat, NICO, Indonesia's Upiak Isil and Singapore's Aliff Aziz competing to be number one.

Hetty is joined by fellow permanent juror Datuk Ramli MS, as well as the new addition, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat.
