'Hero' Police Catch Children Dropped From Burning Building

Police body-worn footage captured a dramatic rescue operation from a burning apartment block in Des Moines, Iowa, early on Tuesday, March 19.

In a post to Facebook, Des Moines Police said they had responded to a fire at an apartment complex early on Tuesday morning but were unable to access the third floor of the building due to heavy smoke.

In order to rescue the occupants of the apartment, four officers positioned themselves outside the building and caught children who were dropped from the window.

In the video, an officer can be heard shouting to a hysterical woman to drop her children to safety.
