Henry Cavill may return as Superman but not in the superhero's own movie

28 May – After being cut from his Superman role in the DCEU back in 2018, now there just might be hope for fans to see Henry Cavill playing the superhero again.
Deadline broke the news that the British actor is now in talks with Warner Bros. to reprise the role.
There was no confirmation of which movie exactly Cavill's Superman will be appearing in, it was just reported that it will not be the superhero's own standalone movie.
This means he could be making an appearance in any of the upcoming DCEU titles that have yet to begin production such as "Shazam! 2", "Aquaman 2" and the Dwayne Johnson-starring "Black Adam".
Most likely he will not appear in "Wonder Woman 1984" and James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad", since those have already wrapped production. Matt Reeves' "The Batman" also has no plans to include Superman.
Cavill debuted as Superman in 2013's "Man of Steel" and later reprised the role for 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and 2017's "Justice League". He is expected to be seen again in the Zack Snyder cut of "Justice League", which is set to premiere on the new streaming platform HBO Max next year.
Outside of the DCEU, the 37-year-old will be seen again as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's second season of "The Witcher" that will air in 2021, and playing Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming "Enola Holmes", which focuses on the fictional detective's younger sister and was last month acquired by Netflix after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted plans for theatrical releases.
