Helicopter Fights California's Caldor Fire Through the Night

The Caldor Fire continued to grow in El Dorado County, California, reaching 106,562 acres (about 167 square miles) with five percent containment on Monday, August 23, according to Cal Fire.

This footage filmed by Craig Philpott, who said it was taken south of Grizzly Flat Road, shows aerial firefighting operations on Sunday night.

Over 400 residences had been destroyed, and 17,488 others were threatened by the fire as of Monday morning, Cal Fire reported.
