Helicopter Arrives to Rescue Woman After Fall at Blarney Castle

Fire crews, the coast guard, and the National Ambulance Service responded at the landmark Blarney Castle in Cork on December 29 after a woman fell on a stairs.

The Cork City Fire Brigade described “a difficult and technical extraction of a patient” in a tweet showing a helicopter over the castle. Video by Kate Durrant also shows the scene.

According to the Irish Times, a “member of the Coast Guard had to go down into the castle by winch before bringing the woman into the helicopter.”
