Heavy Snow Damages Trees as Nor'easter Hits New York

Timelapse footage from Apalachin, New York, shows how heavy snow from a late-season nor’easter brought down large tree limbs outside a home early on April 19.

Footage recorded by Ron Murphy shows snow starting to fall outside his home in Apalachin from Monday into Tuesday.

Snow starts to cover the ground from about 10 pm with tree limbs sagging until one is seen brought down by the weight of the snow around 4 am.

Daytime footage shows a layer of snow on the ground as massive tree limbs lean against the side of the house.

NWS Binghamton had issued a Winter Weather Warning for parts of upstate New York on Monday night.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement that 195,000 homes had lost power due to the nor’easter, which caused power outages and left up to 11 inches of snow in upstate New York. Credit: Ron Murphy via Storyful
