Waterways in Hallein, Austria, were observed flowing at a rapid pace after torrential rains hit the region on July 17, causing heavy flooding.

The mayor of Hallein, Alexander Stangassinger, called the flooding that followed a “disaster," but said that he was proud of how the residents of the town reacted to the emergency.
