Heavy Rainfall Floods Roadway in Staten Island

Heavy rainfall caused a Staten Island, New York, roadway to flood on Thursday, September 23, due to the passage of a slow moving cold front over the area.

Footage posted that day shows motorists driving through a flooded roadway in Staten Island.

The National Weather Service said a flash flood watch was in place for the area from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. A widespread one to two inches of rainfall was forecast, the service said, with higher amounts possible. Credit: @swingey via Storyful
