Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in Northern Italy

Persistent rain flooded parts of Brescia, in northern Italy, on August 16, causing the Oglio River to overflow, reports said.

Footage shared by the Vigili del Fuoco shows a rain-swollen Oglio River in the village of Monno, as well as scenes showing vehicles stranded by floodwaters. Hundreds of rescues were carried out by crews, the agency said.
