Heavy Fog and 'Technical Issue' Cause Major Delays at Sydney Airport

Hundreds of passengers were forced to wait in long lines at Sydney Airport on June 25, as thick fog and a “technical issue” caused major delays.

This footage, filmed by Twitter user @maskitmati shows lines snaked around the entrance to the airport on Monday morning.

In a statement, Sydney Airport said: "We’re sorry about the queues and are working with airlines to get everyone on their way. Heavy fog affected flights earlier this morning, and a technical issue has meant we’re temporarily operating one less security lane than normal in T2 Domestic.”

A spokeswoman for the airport also said that wait times were still being affected as of Monday afternoon, but that passengers were “making their way more steadily through the T2 Domestic check in hall and through to security.” Credit: @maskitmati via Storyful
