Heavy Downpours of Huge Hail Lash Queensland

Australian weather reports said heavy downpours of tennis ball-sized hail lashed parts of Queensland’s southeast on October 31.

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said more than 1,300 people had called for help, while tens of thousands were without power.

The Bureau of Meteorology said the storms associated with the hail were “very dangerous” and that heavy rainfall would persist after they had passed. The bureau also reported “wild weather” in New South Wales, issuing flood warnings. Credit: Nikki King via Storyful
