As Selling Sunset's Heather Rae Young plans her marriage to HGTV's Tarek El Moussa, she is also preparing to step into a "bonus" role. "I give all the mamas props, because being a bonus mom and future stepmom is the hardest job I have ever had," Young said in a recent interview.
Now, the Netflix star is also adding the term "bonus grandparents" to her blended family in anticipation of the big day. "My parents are new to being 'bonus grandparents,'" Young wrote on Instagram this week. "It’s obviously an adjustment to them. All of a sudden poof their baby girl has 2 bonus kids!!"
El Moussa recently took his two children, Taylor and Brayden, to see Heather's California hometown, where the crew spent time with her family. The future family passed their time in Running Springs by enjoying the great outdoors with activities like fishing and hiking. While there, they chartered a small fishing boat on Big Bear Lake, where Taylor caught a rainbow trout.
"Our blended life is crazy but I wouldn’t have it any other way," Young said in her post. "I love my life & even though it’s been an adjustment I have never been happier!"
When reflecting on the success of Selling Sunset earlier this year, Young discussed the road from Running Springs to Los Angeles.
"I never thought I'd be filming a reality show at 32 years old," Heather told House Beautiful. "So it's just really surreal for me coming from such a small town, and being very sheltered, and not really knowing much about the industry or knowing much about even real estate to being where I'm at now. I think it's just now hitting me."
