Heather Rae Young Was Dating a Hockey Player in Sweden When She First Met Tarek El Moussa

Heather Rae Young is quickly becoming a household name. The 32-year-old's rise to fame started on Netflix's Selling Sunset, a docusoap that follows a group of boss lady real estate agents as they sell some of the most luxurious mansions in Los Angeles. A couple months after she made her Netflix debut, she started making more headlines after news broke that she was dating HGTV's Tarek El Moussa. Last month, the couple got engaged and we've never been more excited!
But who really is Heather Rae Young? And how did she end up where she is today? Here are 12 things you might not know about the real-estate-agent-turned-TV-star.
She used to model for Playboy
Young was Playboy magazine's Miss February in 2010 and has posed for the magazine several times, including nude shots. In an interview with Playboy this past May, she reflects on her time as a Playmate. For Young, it was a gratifying experience. "If I hadn’t posed for Playboy, I wouldn’t have met the people who led me to where I am now," she says, noting that "Playboy got me used to being in front of crowds and being good on camera."
She's vegan

Well... kinda. Throughout Selling Sunset, Young often opts for vegan food. However, she revealed on Twitter that she does make a few exceptions.
She's a former pilates instructor
Young revealed on Instagram that she used to teach pilates. "It was such a fun time of my life as fitness and health are passions of mine," she writes, adding that she enjoyed helping clients push through boundaries and work to change their lives.
She has a dog named Harley
Young has an adorable brown pooch that she rescued from Bunny's Buddies, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs from slaughterhouses, shelters, and dog meat farms in China & South Korea.
She owns a Ferrari
For her 32nd birthday, Tarek El Moussa bought her a Ferrari. NBD, right?
She's been on TV before Selling Sunset
According to IMBD, Young made a guest appearance as Tina in "The Baby" episode of the comedy TV series Til Death. She's also starred on her fiance's show Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa.
She currently co-hosts a podcast
Young currently co-hosts a podcast called Flashbacks with radio personality Jessica Hall, who you may recognize from E! network's original reality show Kendra. In each episode, the ladies unearth some major throwback moments as well as reflect on simpler times (like before podcasts were even a thing!). Not to mention to celebrity guests join in on the fun. Young was born on September 16, 1987, in Anaheim, California. She is currently 32 years old.
She's been a ring girl
Before studying to become a real estate agent at 27 years old, Young worked a couple of different gigs. It's clear she was destined to be in the spotlight.
She gets along well with El Moussa's kids and ex-wife
From the get-go, the Selling Sunset star has become like a second mom to El Moussa's kids Taylor and Brayden. She was included in the family's holiday photo and even took Taylor dress shopping before her school dance. Young also has a good relationship with El Moussa's ex-wife, Christina Anstead. The ladies occasionally text each other and share recipes.
She's gotten at least 20 tattoos, but has had most of them removed
Scroll through Young's Instagram and you may notice her unique tattoo collection on her wrist, which includes a small paw print, a musical note, and a number. However, this isn't the only ink Young has ever gotten.
According to her Twitter, had at least 14 unwanted tattoos removed. Although we're unsure which tattoos she got removed, she notes "think before u get big color tattoos."

She had a long-distance boyfriend when she met Tarek El Moussa
In season one of Selling Sunset, you may recall that Young was dating a hockey player named Nick. At the time, he had been scouted to play in Sweden, followed by Slovakia, making the relationship extremely hard to maintain (Young was flying back and forth to see him). When Young first met El Moussa on July 4, 2019, she was still dating this Nick; however, they broke it off shortly thereafter. While Selling Sunset only mentions his first name, we did a little digging and tracked down his Instagram.
