'A Heart for You': German Fire Department Spreads Love During Lockdown

Fire brigades across Germany are expressing solidarity and appreciation during the coronavirus pandemic, among them the Langförden fire department.

This video, shared by the Langförden fire department, shows a heart-shaped tribute meant to show appreciation for medics and other essential workers during “an exceptional situation.”

“As a volunteer fire brigade, we get a ‘thank you’ from time to time,” the department wrote. “Now, we want to say ‘thank you’ symbolically with this heart.”

The fire department expressed gratitude for health care workers battling the coronavirus on the front lines and for essential workers also putting themselves at risk. “You are all everyday heroes,” the department said.
