Health DG Noor Hisham reprimands Noh Salleh for unlit cigarette at KLFW

25 Aug – Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah recently expressed disappointment in Hujan frontman Noh Salleh for holding an unlit cigarette while appearing on stage at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2022 (KLFW2022).

In a tweet posted on 23 August, the DG shared a screenshot from a clip of Noh at the event, and wrote, "The Ministry of Health takes a serious view of issues related to artists who display behavior such as smoking and vaping in public. This act shows a bad example to the surrounding community, especially to children & teenagers."

"The Ministry of Health calls upon everybody, including artists and celebrities, to help the Ministry of Health's efforts to ensure that smoking can be made into a culture that is no longer accepted in the community."

Prior to Noor Hisham's tweet, the singer has already been slammed by netizens for the issue, though it seems like the backlash has been going on for a while now following his divorce with former singer Mizz Nina.

Noh was walking the runway as part of the streetwear brand Super Sunday, which he collaborated with for his own brand Hikari Riders. However, he was not the only one doing so, as other models under the brand were also seen similarly holding an unlit cigarette.
