Having a Ball: Bear Revels in Wildlife Center's New Pond

A Syrian brown bear resident at an animal rescue center in Otisville, New York, delighted in playing in the facility’s newly expanded pond, footage shared to YouTube on July 8 shows.

The bear, named Leo, is estimated to weigh close to 900 lbs by the Orphaned Wildlife Center, and despite being “around 20 years old” looked like a cub bursting with energy as he dipped in the pond and played with a large ball.

“No one could show you how much they love the new pond better than Leo can,” the center wrote in a Facebook post sharing the video. Credit: Kerry Clair via Storyful
