13 Apr – Rock icon Dato' Hattan dismissed the notion that he was directing his recent comments about people illegally crossing state lines and breaching standard operating procedures to any specific person.
The singer, who spoke to the media at an event where he was appointed the new ambassador of beverage brand Stobu, stated that what he previously said was based on facts rather than just empty words - though stressed that it was not meant for just one person.
"It's a universal comment. If you ask me, if you're given the permission to cross the state border, don't misuse it as it can affect other people as well. Is it wrong for me to say anything? If I didn't, who else would do it?" he said.
Not one to mince words, Hattan stressed that he is not one to just share his opinion without looking at the facts.
"I am the kind of person who would voice out my thoughts. Even when it comes to the topic of the music industry. If there is something wrong, I will just share my personal opinion. Take it or leave it. It annoys me when nobody would say anything," he added.
It was last week that the "Biso Bonar" singer expressed his annoyance over some celebrities' irresponsible behaviour that had since prompted the police to create new guidelines for state crossing.
"Once you received the permission, you can do whatever you want. But why would you upload all of it on social media? You're a big celebrity, is it? So in love with showing everything to people? Stop thinking that you're such a star. You're not the only popular person around," he expressed, adding that he hopes that such idiotic behaviour would not cause problems for everybody what with the upcoming Eid celebration.
