Harry Styles has paid tribute to Caroline Flack at the Brit Awards tonight (February 18), with a subtle fashion statement.

The former One Direction singer hit the red carpet wearing a black ribbon on his suit jacket, with many believing it to be a tribute to his former girlfriend, following her tragic death at the weekend.

Later, following one of his many costume changes, Harry wore a 'treat people with kindness' badge.

The 40-year-old former Love Island presenter was found dead in her East London apartment on Saturday (February 15) after taking her own life, a lawyer for the family said over the weekend.

"We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February," Flack's family said in a statement.

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us."

Harry hasn't addressed her sad death on social media so far, so this may have been his way of paying tribute to her.

Brits host Jack Whitehall closed his opening monologue at the awards show with a tribute to Flack, whom he referred to as a member of "the Brits family".

"Over the weekend, we learned the awful news that a member of the Brits family, our friend Caroline Flack, tragically passed away," he told viewers.

"She was a kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun. She will be sorely missed. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that our thoughts are with her friends and family."

Since her death, tributes have poured in from friends and colleagues across social media who she has worked with over the years.

The Brit Awards aired on ITV on Tuesday (February 18) live from the O2 Arena in London, hosted by Jack Whitehall.
