Harry Redknapp ridicules chances of two sides signing Harry Kane as bold Tottenham UCL prediction is made
The future of Harry Kane continues to dominate column inches, but former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp reckons there are two clubs that have categorically no chance of signing the striker this summer.
The England captain has played the majority of his career at Tottenham, spare a few earlier career loans. Now Tottenham’s record goalscorer, he has 268 goals in 422 appearances for the club. He is also one goal away from becoming England’s all-time leading scorer too.
And with 201 Premier League goals to his name, he is now just 59 away from Alan Shearer’s all-time record mark.
However, with Kane’s deal due to expire in summer 2024, speculation over his future is beginning to gather pace. Tottenham are understandably keen to extend his stay, and seemingly feel relaxed over their talisman’s future.
To that end, talks over a new contract will resume once the season is finished. To that end, Ben Jacobs has told TEAMtalk about the factors that are in play as far as a new deal at Spurs are concerned.
But with just 12 months remaining on that arrangement, a failure to sign an extension heading into the summer months will likely see speculation mount.
To that end, Manchester United are persistently linked with a move for the 29-year-old. And with Erik ten Hag ready to spend big on a new No 9, there are theories mounting that Kane could be that man.
There also remains long-standing interest from Bayern Munich. And those rumours continue to resurface after the exit of Robert Lewandowski last summer.
However, they are far from the only two sides emerging as possible destinations should Kane quit Spurs.

Milan transfer move impossible for Harry Kane
To that end, Kane has also been linked with a possible move to Italy with either Inter Milan or AC Milan.
However, Redknapp insists a move to Serie A would be one of the last transfers Kane would consider.
“Once upon a time in England we all watched the Italian league and the players dreamed of going to Serie A. Liam Brady, Graeme Souness, Trevor Francis, Mark Hateley, Joe Jordan, Ray Wilkins – it was special,” he told Tuttomercato.
“And even further back in time, there were people like John Charles, Denis Law, Jimmy Greaves – the best of the best in the United Kingdom went to Italy to fulfil their dream.
“Now if you asked Harry Kane to move to Milan or Inter, he would say no” Everyone wants to play in the Premier League. There’s a lot of money, incredible stuff.”
While the money might not be there Italian football these days, their sides do still carry a threat. And Tottenham will have it all to do on Wednesday when they tackle AC Milan for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Redknapp confidentally predicts Tottenham to ease past Milan
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Spurs must overcome a deficit to see off Stefano Pioli’s side.
However, Redknapp is adamant that Antonio Conte’s team will have too much for the reigning Serie A champions.
“I have to admit that the Italian teams aren’t as strong as they once were. They are not at the same level as they were a few seasons ago,” he said.
“Milan and Inter certainly have great histories, sure. But the only ones that give me the impression of being a top team at the moment is Napoli. What they are doing is incredible. The advantage they have created over their opponents in Serie A is frightening.
Turning attention to Wednesday’s game, Redknapp had a bold prediction about what is in store.
“I’ve seen the first leg. Tottenham have some difficulties away from home sometimes, but I think the 1-0 defeat isn’t a bad result. I am sure they’ll turn the tables on the second leg.
“When you have players of the level of Harry Kane, Son [Heung-min], Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, all are capable of overturning these sorts of situations.”
