Happy’s Place Secures Full-Season Order at NBC
NBC is keeping its tab open at Happy’s Place. The network has handed a back-five order to the Reba McEntire-Melissa Peterman comedy, upping its Season 1 episode count to 18 episodes.
The full-season pick-up comes four weeks after the freshman comedy’s Oct. 18 premiere. Season-to-date, Happy’s Place is averaging 4.6 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating (with delayed playback), ranking No. 4 in audience out of this TV season’s 12 comedies (trailing only Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Ghosts and The Neighborhood).

Happy’s Place centers on McEntire’s Bobbie, who inherits the titular tavern from her late father and soon finds out that she has a new business partner, Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo), a twenty-something half-sister that she never knew she had. Peterman, McEntire’s Reba co-star, plays “needy and dramatic” bartender Gabby.
As TVLine was first to report, fellow Reba vet Steve Howey (fka Van Montgomery) will guest-star in Happy’s Place’s Christmas episode… as a potential sperm donor (!) for Peterman’s Gabby. Meanwhile, United States of Al’s Elizabeth Alderfer has been cast as Gracie, daughter of McEntire’s Bobbie. She’ll first appear midway through Season 1.
New episodes of Happy’s Place air Fridays at 8/7c on NBC (and stream next day on Peacock).
