'It's Happening, Raleigh!' Snow Falls in North Carolina Capital

Winter weather warnings were issued for communities along the Virginia-North Carolina border as snow fell early on Thursday, January 28, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The NWS said areas near the border could see three to four inches of snow accumulation, while residents farther south could see a buildup of one to two inches.

Twitter user Juniper said they filmed this footage of snowfall in Raleigh. The wintry scene was shared on Twitter early Thursday morning with the caption “It’s happening, Raleigh!” The weather service said 1.1 inches of snow accumulated at its office in Raleigh by 9 am on Thursday.
