Halsey Says She Created New Album “The Great Impersonator” While 'In the Space Between Life and Death'
The pop star unveiled the cover artwork and release date for her upcoming fifth studio album
Halsey is getting closer to releasing her new album, The Great Impersonator.
After announcing the album title last week, the 29-year-old pop star (who uses she/they pronouns) unveiled the cover artwork and release date for her upcoming album.
"My 5th studio album 'The Great Impersonator' coming October 25th," wrote Halsey on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the cover artwork: a close-up photo of Halsey appearing wide-eyed with little color to the image besides her rosy cheeks.
My 5th studio album “The Great Impersonator” coming October 25th.
I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already.

The Great Impersonator is available for pre-order on Halsey's website, with CD and several different variant vinyl options featured.
Last week, the "Closer" singer revealed the album's title with a decades-spanning trailer announcing the "confessional concept album."

"I really thought this album would be the last one I ever made," said Halsey in the clip, which features clips of her sporting retro clothing and hair styles from various eras.
“What if I debuted in the early 2000s? The ’90s? The ’80s? The ’70s?” she wonders in a voiceover. “Am I still Halsey every time? In every timeline, do I still get sick? Do I become a mom?”
“If it all ended right now, is this a person you’d be proud to leave behind? Is it even you?” Halsey concludes.

The album has been preceded by three singles: "The End," "Lucky," and "Lonely Is the Muse." Upon the release of "The End" in June, Halsey posted to Instagram and revealed she's been suffering from serious health issues.
"In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life," she said at the time.
