Halsey doesn't want to "feed the illusion" that their body has "bounced back" since welcoming their first child three months ago.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram over the weekend to share a series of photos documenting what their body has looked like since giving birth to their son.

Halsey explained that following their recent appearance on "Saturday Night Live," she received a ton of praise for getting their "pre-baby body" back so quickly, and wanted to give fans a more honest look at their postpartum body.

"I am posting this because no matter what I do people are going to talk about my body," she wrote to more than 26.8 million followers. "It is a confusing symptom of being in the public eye so rather than complain I am going to give you something real to talk about! I did SNL two nights ago and a lot of people were quick to say how good I looked."

"That was a weird feeling. My body has felt like a stranger’s for a long time. I uphold myself to honesty to the point of oversharing sometimes but this feels important," she added.

Halsey also opened up about some misconceptions about post-baby life.

"The first picture on this slide is days after my baby was already born," the singer noted. "A lot of people don’t know that you still look pregnant for a while after."

Halsey pointed out that there was a lot of work that went into making them look their best for "SNL" — and also admitted that exercise is not currently a priority.

"I have no interest in working out right now. I’m too tired and too busy playing with my darling son," the singer explained. "With that being said, the body behind all those compliments the other night was wearing a custom-tailored outfit and lighted perfectly after much testing, so I could feel good and do my job."

"I do not want to feed the illusion that you’re meant to feel and look 'great' immediately postpartum," she continued. "That is not my narrative currently. If you’ve been following me because you’re also a parent and you dig what I’m doing, please know I’m in your corner. I will never have my pre-baby body back no matter how it changes physically because I have now had a baby!"

"That change is permanent. And I don’t want to go back! But In the spirit of honesty, I’m really tired and not a superhuman, and this is really hard. Doing my best to serve my art and my family whilst keeping it all so very real," she concluded.

This isn't the first time the "Without Me" singer has been transparent about pregnancy and motherhood. In an Apple Music interview in September, Halsey candidly revealed that pregnancy isn't always "flowers, butterflies and milk baths."

"Pregnancy for some women is a dream, and pregnancy for some people is a f—-ing nightmare," the singer said. "And that's the thing that nobody else talks about — the pain, the blood, the disease, the fear, the fact that it's arguably the most dangerous condition a human body can experience and has been for a millennium, and kills people to this day."

"It's framed as this time where you should be so grateful," she added. "For me especially, talking about my loss publicly — which I have — talking about lost pregnancies and my struggles with reproductive health, and people saying, 'You should be so grateful.'
