Halle Bailey is reflecting on her initial reaction to learning that her 9-month-old son Halo was being shown on Kai Cenat's livestream without her knowledge.

On the Wednesday, Nov. 6 stream of Cenat's “Mafiathon 2” Twitch stream, Bailey's ex-boyfriend DDG, 27, brought their son Halo on screen, which Cenat, 22, later posted on his YouTube page. The Little Mermaid star then took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that the unexpected appearance of her child made her "extremely upset."

The following day, on Thursday, Nov. 7, the actress wrote on X, "Yesterday maybe i did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here. I know that halo is always safe with his dad."

She continued to explain where her initial emotions came from. "I just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing," she said, adding, "Thank u kai for the gifts for halo."

"I am his mother and protector and saddened that i wasn’t notified especially when i am out of town.”

A rep for DDG did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Wednesday.

Just a few weeks ago, the "Angel" singer revealed that she has “crippling anxiety” when she travels for work without Halo. Bailey shared a few photos on her Snapchat on Oct. 15. "Flying tonight to be somewhere for one day but having crippling anxiety without my son," she wrote.

"Any advice for moms who still can't handle when they have to leave for work?" Bailey asked.

Bailey and DDG welcomed Halo in December 2023 and split in early October.
