Hairstylist Vanessa Wehbe shares BTS details on the "Love Island USA" reunion looks

When it came time for the Love Island USA cast to come together in the real world to film the upcoming reunion, no one skimped on the glam.

This was especially true of the Villa and Casa Amor ladies, who dressed to impress in sexy looks, snatched makeup and hair teased high to the heavens.

Hair colorist and stylist Vanessa Wehbe had the pleasure of glamming Kaylor Martin, Nicole Jacky and Daniela N. Ortiz Rivera for the special occasion, for which she partnered with hair extension brand Bellami.

"These girls are fun! They are young, vibrant and open to chatting about their experiences," Wehbe tells PEOPLE of working with the Islanders for the reunion episode (airing on Peacock Aug. 19).

Wehbe worked alongside Bellami stylists Liam Hannam and Brittany Lalonde and on the inspiration behind the looks she says: "What we achieved with their glam is confidence and fierceness" since the three wanted to own their style after receiving "harsh criticism" after the show.

Below, get the details from Wehbe herself on how she did Kaylor, Nicole and Daniela's reunion hairstyles — minus the tea that was dished behind the scenes because, as Wehbe says, "a good glam team never spills."

Kaylor's "Revenge" Ponytail

Kaylor wanted to have a "revenge-worthy moment" after splitting from Aaron Evan, whom she was coupled up with for almost the entire season. Wehbe says "the overall goal was to match her fierce look [Kaylor also wore a red-hot dress] with the fierce energy she wanted to bring to the reunion."

"The higher the hair, the closer to God" — Kaylor

In 2.5 hours, Wehbe transformed Kaylor's hair into a voluminous Ariana Grande-inspired half-up ponytail.

She used the Bellami Silk Seam 22" clip-in extensions in Honey Comb Highlight, a warm blonde shade, to "improve her color and tone correct some chemical damage, as well as blend out her existing sewn-in extensions so we can see the full depth of her loose waves."

"Doing this helped me to create seamless, lightweight volume at the root and beautiful verticality for her cascading pony," adds Wehbe.

"We used brown eyeshadow tapped in with an eyeshadow brush and hairspray to match her root, color correct and hide her permanent extensions from sight. Worked like a charm!"

Nicole's "Comeback" Look

Nicole took a step back from the spotlight after returning home from the Villa. So, for the reunion, Wehbe knew her hair had to make a statement as major as her "comeback."

"Sexy, Exotic and Glamorous" Waves

Nicole had a clear vision for how she wanted her hair to look like: "Sexy, exotic and glamorous while still exhibiting class," says Wehbe.

"Our goal was to have her hair be a part of the outfit. There may have been more hair than were inches on her reunion dress [a plunging snakeskin-print mini], but we’re here for it!"

Mermaid Moment

Wehbe took Nicole's hair from a shoulder-length balayage to long bouncy waves with "maximum length, density and fullness" using almost two packs of the Bellami Silk Seam 22" clip-in extensions in the shade Dark Honey Cocoa Highlight. She also used a color-blocking technique to accomplish dimension.

"We decided to lean into a beachier and wind-tousled look by creating long cascading waves with lots of texture and dimension," reveals Wehbe.

All About the Volume

Daniela already had in Bellami's 24" I-Tips extensions in a dark chestnut brown color. But to take her volume and thickness to the next level, Wehbe stacked and staggered the Bellami Silk Seam 22" clip-in extensions in Dark Honey Cocoa Highlight to liven up Daniela's existing balayage and seamlessly "achieve lightweight volume at the root."

Last-Minute Touchups

"For someone like Daniela with fine-texture hair, it was important that the clip-ins and I-tips didn't show. To help with this, we added colored fibers on the roots and on her cowlick to ensure that her scalp density looked full and the extensions were camouflaged completely."
