Thunderstorms drenched Mississippi overnight and into the early morning on Wednesday, March 4, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Tornado warnings were also issued for several cities in central and southern Mississippi during the overnight storms. The NWS forecast thunderstorms to continue producing hail and strong winds on Wednesday.
Local media reported “extensive” damage to several structures, downed trees, and inches of hail after storms moved across the region.
