Hailey Bieber is on the mend after experiencing a blood clot in March, but she hasn’t quite gotten back to her former routine.

The model, who launched her skincare line Rhode, spoke to Byrdie this week about the health ordeal, which she called in an Instagram video the “scariest moment” of her life. While having breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber, the 25 year old suffered a transient ischemic attack, which is sometimes referred to as a mini stroke. In her video, she shared that the situation was caused by a “perfect storm” of factors, including having a then unknown small opening in her heart, known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). In order to fix the issue, Bieber underwent a PFO closure procedure, which she said went “smoothly.”

She told Byrdie, “My body is taking a little longer to heal than they thought it would. After they did the heart procedure, I’m always the person who’s in a rush to get back to things, but this has taught me that it’s not physically possible sometimes.”

The former ballet dancer added, “I love fitness, so the last couple of months have been a little hard for me because it’s such an important part of my routine and day.”

While Bieber may be struggling with the physical aspects of her recovery, she previously spoke about how the health scare has strengthened her and her husband’s relationship. On Wednesday, Bieber told Live With Kelly and Ryan, "[Justin] took very good care — he slept with me in the hospital when I went through my situation, he was really there for me," she shared. "I think honestly the silver lining in the whole situation, what I went through, what he went through, is it really bonds you. I feel like we're closer than ever... I will take that away from everything."

Justin is also managing health issues, as he recently postponed his upcoming concerts due to the onset of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that affects facial nerves and causes paralysis.

"He's doing well, he's getting better and better every day," Bieber explained of the condition. "He's going to be totally fine. This is just a really out of nowhere, weird situation. It takes time to heal from."
