Haaland ‘plan’ for Man City exit revealed and ‘record-breaking contract’ could ‘spurn’ Real Madrid
According to reports, Norway International Erling Haaland is ‘likely to stay at Manchester City for one more year than initially planned’.
Haaland joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund last summer. The Premier League champions signed him for an initial fee of around £63m after his release clause was activated.
The forward has enjoyed a remarkable debut season for the English outfit. He has netted 52 goals in his 51 appearances and this includes 36 goals in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old is helping Man City challenge for the treble. They won the Premier League with a couple of games to spare and they are in the final of the FA Cup and Champions League.
Haaland is already being linked with a move away from Man City and Real Madrid are known to be admirers of the prolific striker.
Earlier this year, Haaland’s agent – Rafaela Pimento – warned Man City that Real Madrid is viewed as a “dreamland” for her clients.
“When I started in this business, if I would say to a player ‘I’ll bring you to England’ the first thing they would say would be ‘what did I do wrong? Why don’t you like me?’ Pimento said.
“Now, if I ask a player ‘what is your goal?’ he will say the Premier League. He doesn’t say City, Chelsea or Arsenal but the Premier League.
“This is the place to be for an agent because it is the place the players want to be. It’s a fantastic league. It’s competitive. Every game is a challenge. Everybody wants to watch it. They want to be here.
“But there is the Premier League. And there is Real Madrid. And Real Madrid has something of its own that makes it the Dreamland for the players.
“Madrid keeps this magic going. It doesn’t have the league competition but it does have the Champions League.”

Football Insider are now reporting that ‘the plan of Haaland and his father Alf Inge Haaland had been to stay’ at Man City ‘for three years’. He would ‘move on’ after ‘hoovering up trophies and breaking records’.
Real Madrid will ‘push for Haaland’ in 2024 as a replacement for Karim Benzema but ‘City are confident of spurning their advances’.
The report adds: ‘A well-placed source has revealed that he now wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium for four years – until 2026.
‘It is likely Haaland will be offered and will sign a record-breaking contract in the meantime – and potentially even within the next six months.’
