Guelph Police arrest 3 people in fentanyl trafficking investigation

Working on a series of tip-offs, Guelph Police seized over $20,000 of fentanyl, carfentanyl and crystal methamphetamine at three separate residences on Wednesday morning. (Guelph Police Service - image credit)

More than $20,000 worth of dangerous drugs have been recovered from three separate addresses in Guelph.

After several tips that three people were supplying fentanyl to vulnerable individuals downtown, Guelph police issued three search warrants on Wednesday morning at addresses on Willow Road and Waterloo Avenue.

"We did seize more than $20,000 worth of fentanyl, carfentanyl and crystal methamphetamine as well as a quantity of cash and two replica firearms," Guelph police spokesperson Scott Tracey told CBC News.

A 42-year-old Guelph woman and two Guelph men, ages 32 and 40, face charges of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking and possessing proceeds of crime.

All three remain in custody awaiting bail hearings.
