'Guard Dog' Barks at Tree Uprooted by Post-Tropical Cyclone Fiona in Nova Scotia

A small dog had a loud reaction upon seeing an uprooted tree in the aftermath of Post-Tropical Cyclone Fiona in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, on September 24.

Video recorded by Angela Dunnett shows her 3-year-old ‘guard dog’ Gizmo pulling on her leash and yapping at the underside of an uprooted tree.

“Took him out first thing this morning and this was his first reaction to the trees that fell over,” Dunnett told Storyful. “I never noticed at first but the tree looks like a big dog.”

On Saturday morning, Nova Scotia Power said the storm has caused “significant damage” across the province, citing “uprooted trees, broken poles and downed power lines.” Credit: Angela Dunnett via Storyful
