“Grey's Anatomy ”cast celebrate 'turning the legal drinking age' with iconic “Vanderpump Rules” opener
Camilla Luddington, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. raise their glass high to mark "Grey's Anatomy" season 21 with "Pump Rules" cocktail sloshing.
Grey's Anatomy is officially in its 21st season. You know what that means - SHOTS!
To commemorate the medical drama officially reaching drinking age, the 21st season cast (led by Camilla Luddington) assembled for a side-splitting, shot-for-shot recreation of the Vanderpump Rules intro, decked out in full scrubs.
The familiar Pump Rules theme, "Raise Your Glass" by Dena Deadly, soundtracks the skit, which begins with newer additions Midori Francis and Niko Terho doing their best Stassi Schroeder and Scheana Shay. That's to say, they turn dramatically to face the camera and slosh alcohol all over the floor in Pump Rules slow motion style.
Luddington, Jake Borelli, and Harry Shum Jr. raise their glasses and pour some bubbly from behind the bar (very Jax Taylor, Ariana Madix, and Tom Sandoval), Adelaide Kane nearly spills an entire Manhattan out of a coupe glass, Kevin McKidd hilariously shows up in a kilt, Chris Carmack is passed a highball, lifting it in toast like James Bond, and horrifyingly, Caterina Scorsone and James Pickens Jr., whose characters have both struggled with addiction, shake cocktails from behind a bar.
The Vanderpump Rules intro montage changes slightly with each season as the cast shifts around, making 1:1 comparisons between Grey's and Pump Rules cast impossible. But there's no mistaking Chandra Wilson closing out the skit by walking down a hallway of the Grey Sloan set, rightfully being positioned as the series' Lisa Vanderpump.
Finally, in a nod to her "Ambassador of Fun" title, Kim Raver runs in sporting a cocktail dress befitting SUR, but missed the shoot. "I'm ready! Hello?" she asks the empty room, confused.

"In honor of our show turning the legal drinking age," Luddington captioned the video she jointly posted with the official Grey's Instagram account. "I’ll take a Pinot Grigio," she added in a nod to Stassi Schroeder's memorably shady remark to Scheana Shay.
Fans reacted with glee at the crossover of TV titans, with many urging Scorsone and Pickens Jr. with faux-panic to back away from the cocktails. Vanderpump Rules cast and alums Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, and Lisa Vanderpump herself all shared the video to their Instagram stories. Shay added the caption, "Worlds colliding!!!!!"

A few hours after the Sept. 26 post, Luddington followed it up with a BTS montage set to Chappell Roan's "Red Wine Supernova." The video sees Luddington meandering around the lot where Grey's is filmed twirling a pink princess dress on a hanger, intercut with production footage and clips of the cast and crew laughing as McKidd mans a leafblower to give the original skit its Vanderpump Rules-iest "windblown" effect.
Absent from both videos were Anthony Hill, Jason George, Alexis Floyd, Debbie Allen and the Queen of Grey Sloan, Ellen Pompeo.
