Green Smoke Released as Crowds Continue to Arrive at Kabul Airport

Crowds arrived at Kabul’s international airport on Wednesday morning, August 18, as military evacuations and limited commercial flights continued from the Afghan capital.

Afghans have been flocking to Hamid Karzai International Airport in a desperate attempt to escape after the Taliban took hold of Kabul on Sunday.

Chaos broke out at the airport on Monday. Multiple people were reported to have died at the airport, with videos showing people clinging to a US Air Force plane as it taxied for takeoff.
