Graupel Falls in West Virginia as Temperatures Cool

Graupel fell in West Virginia on Wednesday, May 3, local residents reported.

Wednesday would be chilly and bring rain showers, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

The NWS had not forecasted graupel for the region, but multiple locals reported seeing it.

This footage by @Elicaldwell shows graupel falling in Spencer.

Meanwhile, a winter storm warning was in effect for high-elevation areas of West Virginia, with several inches of fresh snow expected.
