While the world waits for the GTA 6 trailer to drop, there’s something on the horizon for those who want classic Grand Theft Auto on mobile. If you have a Netflix account, you’ll soon be able to download and play the Definitive Edition of Rockstar‘s iconic series.

Will it be any better, though?

In a recent post on both Twitter and the official website, Netflix has announced that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy will be available through its mobile app from December 14. It’s also being made available through Google Play and the Apple App Store.

This will give you the chance to play GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas through the streaming platform. This trilogy is part of Netflix’s ongoing attempt to tap into the gaming market, offering around 80 titles on mobile.

However, it will be the Grove Street Games remaster and not the classic Grand Theft Auto installments that originally came out two decades ago. As many were painfully aware, 2021’s Definitive Edition was released to near-universal criticism.

GTA: The Trilogy reviews were vocal about the many issues the remastered collection had, including poor-quality visuals and a laundry list of glitches. Rockstar Games made the situation worse by removing the classics from digital storefronts, which meant players had to opt for the Definitive Edition.

Since then, the world has largely forgotten about it, though attempts were made to update the three games, fixing issues and improving the overall quality.

Whether Netflix making Grand Theft Auto available on mobile through its app will boost the remasters popularity remains to be seen at this stage.
