From Digital Spy

It's a Hollywood heavyweight takeover of The Graham Norton Show this New Year's Eve.

Multi-Oscar winner Tom Hanks is headlining this one – promoting upcoming western News of the World, which sees him reunite with Captain Phillips director Paul Greengrass.

Wild Mountain Thyme duo Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan are also swinging by for a chat about their Irish romance drama, while X-Men: Dark Phoenix actress Jessica Chastain teases spy thriller The 355 (now delayed until January 2022 because of the pandemic).

Taking the conversation out of lights, camera, action, food writer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall joins the line-up to discuss his new book, and comedian Nish Kumar also joins Graham's NYE guestlist.

But it wouldn't be The Graham Norton Show without a show-stopping musical guest, as singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor helps to see out 2020 in style with her new track 'Crying at the Discotheque'.

Sophie covered the Alcazar track during her Kitchen Disco sessions broadcast from home during lockdown earlier this year, and it also appears on her greatest hits album Songs from the Kitchen Disco.

Meanwhile, as for what viewers can expect during this week's instalment, the host will be surrounded by the likes of Stephen Fry, Amanda Seyfried, Jamie Oliver and Dolly Parton.

The Graham Norton Show continues this Friday (December 4) on BBC One, and the New Year's Eve special will air on December 31 at 10.25pm, also on BBC One.
