KOTA KINABALU, 23 Nov (Bernama) -- Graduates, who will take over as the backbone of the country’s development, should keep abreast with current changes and development, said the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
Juhar, who is Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) chancellor, said they also needed to be positive and have integrity, be courageous and to not lose hope easily when faced with challenges.
“With this strong and vibrant attitude, our graduates will be able to bring greater heights and glory, as well as create a new civilization, for the country," he said at the 21st UMS convocation ceremony here today.
He said graduates with all the attributes would be able to bring progress to the country.
A total of 4,159 UMS graduates will receive their scrolls during the three-day convocation which began today.
